Laser Pigmentation Removal

Spectra laser treatment is a Q switched Nd Yag laser produces a light of specific wavelength. This laser light, when directed into the skin, is absorbed by pigmented skin lesions. The light will shatter the melanin pigment into micro particles. These micro particles are naturally carried away by the blood stream and eventually removed from the body. The skin pigmentation is then lightened after a few sessions.

Clinical Pigmentation Treatments are not beauty treatments-  they have risks and associated down time. If we choose to treat pigmentation (freckles, solar lentigenes, seborrhoeic keratosis etc), expect redness for 1 - 3 days, a darkening of pigmentation or mild wound formation. Downtime may last for 5 –7 days on the face, or 10 – 12 days on the body. hen surface pigment will appear darker before sloughing off. In some cases e.g. large pigmented lesions, skin may take 2- 3 weeks to heal. Factor this into your social plans and do not pick the skin.
